"Ritual is the container for the experience of spirit. Healing can only happen when the community comes together in ritual."
— Malidoma Patrice Somé
You have been holding it long enough.
The solstice approaches — the longest day, the great turning, the threshold between what was and what is becoming. Before the light shifts, before the next cycle begins, you are being called to put it down.
Not manage it. Not process it in another workshop.
Release it. Burn it. Be free of it.
Unwind what has been coiled tight in your body for too long.
Unbind what has kept you tethered to old grief, old fear, old ways of being.
This is ritual. This is community. This is medicine.
The Ancestors are already waiting.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You are being called if:
— Your body is tired of carrying what your mind hasn't been able to release
— You are a space holder, empath, creative, or wisdom keeper who needs to be held yourself
— You are ready to go past understanding and into actual transformation
— You feel the pull of ancestral connection and want to go deeper
— You are new to ceremony and ready, or seasoned in the work and called back
All are welcome. No prior ceremony experience required. Willingness is the only prerequisite.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes — if you feel the call, you are ready. You do not need prior experience with ceremony, plant medicine, or shamanic work. The evening is designed to hold both the spiritually curious and the deeply seasoned. Our facilitators create a container where you can move at your own pace and go only as deep as you are ready to go.
-
Three sacred plant medicines are offered during the evening — each with deep roots in ancient tradition:
Cacao — the heart opener, the grandmother medicine. Used ceremonially for thousands of years, cacao gently opens the heart center and prepares the body and spirit to feel deeply.
Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) — one of the most revered plants in ancient Kemetic tradition, depicted throughout the temple walls of Egypt. Blue Lotus quiets the noise of the mind, deepens relaxation, and opens the third eye to support meditation, visualization, and ancestral connection.
Hapé — sacred tobacco used in shamanic traditions across the African and Amazonian diaspora. Offered through the nostrils, hapé clears the field, grounds the body, and creates a powerful threshold before the rebirthing journey begins.
All three are offered with reverence, intention, and full facilitator support. Nothing is ever forced. Consent is honored throughout.
-
All three medicines — cacao, Blue Lotus, and hapé — are legal, plant-based, and have been used ceremonially for thousands of years.
Please note that Blue Lotus carries a light psychedelic effect — producing gentle states of euphoria, heightened sensory awareness, and deepened visual and dream-like perception with eyes closed. It is mild and ceremonially intentional, but it is real. Come prepared to surrender to the experience
We recommend you avoid these medicines or consult your physician first if you are: — Pregnant or breastfeeding — Taking antidepressants, sedatives, or blood pressure medication — Managing a heart condition — Experiencing active psychosis or severe mental health crisis
Your safety and wellbeing are our first priority. If you have any concerns, email us at contact@returntokemet.com before registering.

Heka is one of the oldest and most sacred practices in Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) tradition — the use of sacred sound, breath, and words of power as instruments of creation, protection, and healing. During the ceremony, Heka is spoken to clear the energetic field, seal the sacred space, and protect every person in the room before the descent begins. No prior knowledge is needed — you simply receive it.
-
No. Some moments invite spoken reflection or vocal sounding, but nothing is ever required. You are always welcome to hold your experience in silence. The circle holds space for each person's unique process — whether that is tears, stillness, movement, or sound. There is no performance here.
-
Our facilitators are trained to hold space for deep emotional and spiritual experiences. You will not be alone at any point in the evening. If you need grounding, a hand, or a quiet moment, support is present and available throughout. The container is held from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.
-
Comfortable, layered clothing that allows you to fully relax, move, breathe, and feel supported. You may be sitting, stretching, shaking, or experiencing emotional release — softness and comfort over appearance. Many guests choose flowing or breathable clothing in earth tones or white, but there is no dress code. Come as you are
-
Journal and pen — Comfortable layers or a wrap for stillness portions of the evening — An open body and a willing heart
Light refreshments will be available. A full meal beforehand is not recommended — arrive nourished but not heavy.

All sales are final. If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to another person. Please email contact@returntokemet.com at least 48 hours before the event to arrange a transfer.
