Yopo is similar to Ayahuasca medicine due to the properties of 5MeoDMT, DMT, and Bufotenina. The only divergence between these medicines is that Yopo has a greater intensity than the Ayahuasca process, mainly regarding visions and receiving ancestral teachings.

The recommendation for applying Yopo is to use a more intense breath than is common when applying other types of Hapè. Because it does not contain tobacco, Yopo does not have the same initial impact as other types. Another recommendation to make is to keep the medicine acting for longer before cleaning your nose, to make better use of its entheogenic properties.

It is recommended to leave the medicine acting for 10 to 15 minutes while mediating to help align yourself with the spirit.
